The Rhode Island State Council Knights of Columbus is honored to present our Annual Day of Recollection in the Year of Mercy on the 5th Saturday of Lent, March 12 at St. Augustine Church located at 639 Mount Pleasant Ave in Providence (Mount Pleasant), RI beginning at 10:00 AM . This day will be hosted by RI KofC State Chaplain Fr. Joseph Paquette, the retired and beloved pastor of St. Theresa Church in Pawtucket. Fr. Joe was a La Salette Brother working as a social worker on the streets of Montreal, Canada in the early 1960s helping drug addicts, prostitutes, the poor, abused children, the elderly and alcoholics, when the Lord called him to the priesthood. Father Paquette was ordained to the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette in 1978. His first assignment was to the La Salette Shrine. He joined the Diocese of Providence in 1986 and he was assigned to St. Theresa’s Church in Pawtucket. He subsequently served assignments at St. Gregory Church, Warwick, and St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Providence, before returning to serve at St. Theresa’s.
The featured spiritual leader of the day will be Fr. Andre Patneaude. Known to all as “Father Pat,” Director of The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro MA. He believes there is a powerful need to reach out to all ages, young and old and show them there is a better way to live. His music excites people about their faith, not only because it is appealing but also by attracting the people to its message. He is internationally known as a singer, writer and recording artist. He has traveled extensively across the Globe and is known Worldwide as the “Troubadour Priest!”

All Knights and their families, and indeed all Catholics are invited to attend this special day that will include themed talks and discussions, recitation of the Rosary, Benediction, and concludes with Mass at 5:00. Lunch provided by Pauly Penta’s Deli of North Providence.
