We are so very fortunate to have perpetual adoration in our parish, giving those living in the area an opportunity to adore the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours and 7 days a week, year round. To expand interest in devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and to draw awareness to the devotion in our chapel, we are going to institute annually, 40 Hours Devotion, beginning this Advent.
What is 40 Hours Devotion? For 40 Hours, in the main body of the church, from 2:00 AM on Wednesday morning, December 4 to 6:00 PM on Thursday evening December 5, Eucharistic Adoration will take place on the main altar of the church. The two times we will have Mass during the 40 Hours, we will bring the monstrance back down into the Adoration Chapel and then back up immediately following Mass. After the 40th hour of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Church, we will have Benediction and Holy Mass at 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 5th. Priests in the area will be invited to join us. There will be a sign up list in the back of the church. We encourage you to take an hour or two during the 40 Hours the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in church, or we invite you to stop in church and make a visit while Exposition is taking place.
We hope you will participate in 40 Hours Devotion as we prepare during Advent for the birth of Christ.
