THEME: "Encountering the Divine Physician" BIO: Fr. John Maria Devaney, OP is a Dominican Friar of the Province of St. Joseph currently serving in the Diocese of Providence as pastor of St. Pius V Parish in Providence. After ordination in 2015, Fr. John served as a hospital chaplain, including on the front lines of the Covid-19 crisis, on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan as part of the Dominican Health Care Ministry until summer of 2022. He has logged thousands of hospital visits and brings that experience and insight to our mission this Lent at Immaculate Conception Also, for almost a decade, Fr. John has also hosted a weekly SiriusXM satellite radio show entitled “Word to Life” on The Catholic Channel. On a special note, since the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Fr. John Maria serves Pope Francis and the Church as a Missionary of Mercy with the commission to be “living sign of the Father’s welcome to all those in search of his forgiveness…” (Misericordiae Vultus #18). *Confessions available from 6:30 pm - 6:50 pm each night
The Young Adult Group of our Parish will be hosting our first-ever Friday Fish Fry on March 1st at 7 pm after Stations of the Cross in the parish hall. Tickets will be $15/person.
